Call for e-learning project proposals

8 September 2017 Posted in: Announcements, News By: Gill Ritchie

We are now accepting proposals for projects to be funded by our E-Learning Production Scheme. This scheme allows us to employ QMUL students as E-Learning Assistants to work with staff on small projects relating to the use of technology in teaching or in any area of enhancing the student experience. If you have an idea but don’t have the time to implement it yourself, an E-Learning Production Scheme project could be the ideal way to get started.

The scheme is open to all staff at Queen Mary. We will fund projects that are tightly defined in scope and can be completed within a defined time frame. The scheme is not able to supplement general teaching budgets nor provide regular funding for ongoing projects, but exists instead to provide a “kick–start” to new initiatives.

As a general guide, if your project:

  • is a new activity or initiative for you or your course;
  • makes use of learning technologies, either locally supported technologies such as QMplus, QMplus Hub, QMplus Media, Q-Review or external to QMUL;
  • is self-contained can be completed between the beginning of October 2017 and 19th January 2018.
  • is sustainable i.e. it will continue without intensive E-Learning Unit input after the project has finished;
  • is small – i.e. requires 2 or 4 weeks of an E-Learning Assistant’s time; and
  • cannot be funded with your existing departmental teaching budget

then it is a strong candidate for the E-Learning Production Scheme.

Please see our E-Learning Production Scheme page for more information about the scheme including examples of projects that have been funded in the past and to download an application form.

Important dates

The deadline for the submission of project proposals is Monday 25th September at 5pm. Successful projects will start at the beginning of October and must be completed by Friday 19th January 2018.
