Commonly Asked Support Questions

4 April 2019 Posted in: Uncategorized By: Rume Begum

Here are the questions that were most commonly asked on The Helpdesk during the past month.

Question 1: QMplus has become sluggish. Is there anything being done to resolve these issues?

Answer 1: We are aware of these issues and we are working to resolve them. For more details, please click here.

Question 2: Can my re-sit students have access to my courses on the archives?

Answer 2: Yes, if the student was studying in that particular academic year they will have access to those courses. However, if the student requires access to courses from previous years, you will need raise a ticket providing the following information:

  • student’s full name and email
  • course code and full name

Question 3: How can I withhold grades/feedback for Turnitin submissions until all student submissions have been graded?

Answer 3: Hiding the assignment activity in QMplus will prevent students from seeing their grades & feedback for that piece of work, however should you have students who are still submitting late then there would be a need for a second submission area. Should this not be feasible, then we would advise to use the marking workflow – this would allow you to set the status of the grading as ‘grading’, ‘ready for release’, etc, before finally making the grades/feedback available by setting the workflow status to ‘released’.

Should you keep the assignment as visible, but hide the gradebook item, students will still have access to the Turnitin ‘blue pen’ icon, allowing them to access their grade/feedback, so the above workflow is advised.
