Commonly Asked Support Questions – January 2018

Here are the questions that were most commonly asked on the Helpdesk during the last month.

Question 1: I would like to make a recording for my upcoming lecture. What do I need to do to ensure the lecture is recorded?

Answer 1: You will first need to check to see the room is Q-Review enabled and then schedule the recording. For more information, click here.

Question 2: How can I make my recordings available on my QMplus page?

Answer 2: You will need to ensure that your lectures have been scheduled to be recorded and are connected to your QMplus page. You will then to add a external tool link, visit our guide for instructions on how to set this up for your course.

Question 3: A new course area has been set up for me and I would like to enrol users onto my course. What are the different types of enrolment methods available to me? 

Answer 3: There are several ways a user can gain access to a course, the common method is to manually enrol a user. Another method is to set up a self enrolment role where users can enrol onto the course by themselves. However, if you have a large number of users that need to have access to the course, you may wish to enrol them in bulk.

Question 4: I would like to upload a document with my feedback for the student assignments. How can I do this?

Answer 4: You will need to set up the assignment so that it accepts feedback files, visit this guide for more information.

Question 5: I have a student who no longer studies my course but he has not yet been un-enrolled from my course. How do I un-enrol him from my course?

Answer 5: You will need to ensure that the student is un-enrolled from the course on SITS and once the SITS database is updated the student will be removed from the QMplus course. If you find that the student is still enrolled on the course after one working day then please raise a ticket and we will look into the issue. If the student has been manually enrolled, they will need manually un-enrolling to remove their access.
