Commonly Asked Support Questions (September-October 2014)

10 November 2014 Posted in: Articles Tagged: By: Rume Begum

Here are the questions that were most commonly asked on the Helpdesk during the last two months.

Question 1: Can you remove my student’s access from the module XXX301? She is enrolled via external database and I cannot remove her access.

Answer 1: No, as she is being enrolled by ‘External Database’ this means that the data is being automatically populated from the central students records database, SITS. Unfortunately this isn’t something that the E-Learning support team can amend. She will need to be un-enrolled from the course in SITS. Once she has been removed from SITS she will be automatically be removed from QMplus. However, if this does not solve the issue then please raise a ticket with HelpDesk.

Question 2: My email address is incorrect on QMplus. Can you update it with the new email address? (Staff Only)

Answer 2: Yes we can once you can confirm it has been changed on MyHR. As the email address field is taken from your record on MyHR.

Question 3: My student cannot see their timetable although they are enrolled onto all the modules. Can you help?

Answer 3: Unfortunately, we do not support student timetables although students access it via QMplus. We advise that students contact the Central Timetabling system directly on the details found on the link below.

Question 4: Can you rollover my module as I need a 2014/15 area for my module?

Answer 4: No, as the deadline has passed and all modules should have been scheduled for a rollover by 30th September 2014. However, we can offer to duplicate your course and manually edit the course details settings. This means there will be another copy of your course and this copy will be used for this academic year and titled ‘2014/15.’ Whilst the old ‘2013/14’ course will be hidden from students view and be archived the following year.
