We are pleased to inform you of two updates which are coming to QMplus Media and these will enhance the user experience. For those unfamiliar with the system. QMplus Media is built on a powerful video management platform called Kaltura and is integrated with QMplus. The platform can be considered like an institutional YouTube. It enables staff and students to create, upload and share videos in channels, on QMplus and beyond. There are several interactive features such as quizzes, hotspots, plus interactive video paths.
Media player upgrade
The playlists in both V2 and V7
We are upgrading from the existing version 2 to version 7. This will provide a number of improvements including:
- A more intuitive interface
- Advanced streaming providing smoother playback and faster loading of pages in QMPlus
- Responsive design that works across all devices
- We are planning for this to occur the same week as the QMplus upgrade in July 2024 (subject to change).
Theme Refresh
Current QMplus Media site
When you log into QMplus Media (qmul.ac.uk) site you will be presented with a new, fresher looking interface. This will be implemented to coincide with the player update.
