Course Details

TELT001 – Getting Started with QMplus
QMplus is Queen Mary’s Online Learning Environment (OLE). This is a 2-hour online session where participants will be taken on a journey around QMplus, and learn how to navigate the system as well as the basics to update their module areas using our most popular tools.

TELT012 – An Introduction to QM’s lecture capture system – Q-Review (based on Echo360)
These sessions are designed to show you the most commonly used functions, explore how you can use them with students, give you some hands-on practice and have your questions answered.

TELT013 – Getting Started with Zoom
This session is for users with little or no knowledge of Zoom. In this 60-minute session participants will understand and practice using Zoom.

TELT013a – Zoom in Teaching
In this 75-minute session participants will learn about features in Zoom to manage online participants as well as tools that can be used to keep online students engaged. Participants will have the opportunity to practice using some of the features.

TELT014 – Getting started with MS Teams meetings
In this 60-minute session, the Technology Enhanced Learning team will show you the most commonly used functions of MS Teams in meetings, explore how you can use them with your students, give you some hands-on practice and have your questions answered.

TELT014a – MS Teams in Teaching (interaction)
In this 75-minute session, participants will build on their knowledge of MS Teams meetings, and learn how to interact and engage with meeting participants. We will discuss features such as the whiteboard, breakout out rooms and polls and how these can be used with students.

TELT016 – An Introduction to Blackboard Ally
This session is aimed at staff who create and upload content for use on QMplus; academics, learning technologists, or those who will be supporting schools and institutes to improve the accessibility of their courses, in order to provide a truly inclusive learning environment. It will cover how Blackboard Ally works, the student workflow looking at alternative formats, the instructor reporting, and the tools available to improve accessibility.

TELT018 – An Introduction to Mentimeter
This one-hour online session will cover features of Mentimeter including:
• Popular question types (Multiple Choice, Word Cloud, Open Ended, Scales, Ranking, Q&A)
• Content Slides (Heading, Paragraph, Bullets, Image, Document)
• Themes, Templates and Settings
• Collaboration
• Integration with Zoom and MS Teams
• Quiz

TELT018a – Advanced use of Mentimeter in teaching
This one-hour online session will cover advanced features of Mentimeter including:
• Segmentation – how to segment the answers to your questions to reveal patterns of responses
• History and Trends – how to measure trends over time
• Following advanced question types to increase variety, engagement and insight (Ranking, Scales, 2×2 grid, Pin on image, Slide library [new])
• Control your presentation experience (Mentimote, Moderation)
