New Feature! Q-Review/Echo360 polling and analytics

There are a number of elearning solutions for adding polling questions to your videos, such as: QMplus Media/Kaltura, H5P interactive content or using Mentimeter in your virtual classroom sessions, etc., however the ability to export responses and analytics for polling questions was lacking.

This functionality is now available for content published via Q-Review/Echo360, allowing you to review your students’ understanding of the teaching content. To find out how to embed polling questions in your Q-Review videos and access their analytics, watch this video.

Updates to caption editing on QMplus Media/Kaltura

There have been some updates to the captioning feature on QMplus Media/Kaltura. These will be of most interest to those who are using Zoom and more generally to anyone who wants to import a caption file.

  • Caption files in SRT, DFXP and WebVTT formats are now supported. These can be uploaded and then edited using the online caption editor if required
  • Captions which have been automatically transferred from Zoom along with the recordings are editable using the online caption editor on QMplus Media/Kaltura

You can find further information in our How to edit closed captions for QMplus Media videos on our website.

Drop In Sessions – Now held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays

We have added an additional slot to the e-learning drop in sessions to accommodate the increased demand for support. The extra drop in session will be held on Wednesdays from 1-2pm until the end of term, meaning that you can get assistance for your urgent e-learning inquiries on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays, via the Online Support area.

Featured tool – Upcoming Events block

Does your QMplus course area contain lots of activities, with it somewhat difficult for your students to find their upcoming activities? If so, the Upcoming Events block is a great way to help with navigation, with events highlighted so that they can be found easily. Take a look at the video guide here to find out how to add the block and configure it so that they can locate the content quickly.
