Unfortunately there are instances when the Turnitin service is disrupted and students are unable to submit their assignments. If you think you are experiencing an issue during a submission period please check the Turnitin Status Page to check the most current service status. Alternatively please check the ITS Status page or the QMplus Ticker for regular updates on the service.
You will normally receive an error message such as ‘Turnitin API Base URL incorrect or unavailable’ when trying to submit or will experience issues when trying to sign in to Turnitin when there is a service disruption.
What should I do when there is a service disruption?
In these instances, if you haven’t done so, please check the status pages and raise a ticket so you can confirm there is a disruption to the service. Unfortunately, these circumstances are beyond our control and we would advise that the school extends the submission deadline.
