27 August 2024 Posted in: Announcements, Welcome Week By: Annette Nembhard

We are excited to welcome five new Student Ambassadors to the TEL Team! These talented individuals will be joining us as part of our Welcome Week session delivery team, continuing the outstanding work started by our first cohort of Student Ambassadors. Please join us in giving them a warm welcome!

Hello! My name is Xiaoyang, pursuing an LLM in Technology, Media, and Telecommunications at QMUL. This specialty ignites my passion for the intersection of tech and law, fueling my role as a TEL Student Ambassador. I’ve attended numerous tech seminars, gaining insights into current trends and challenges—knowledge I’m excited to bring to our TEL initiatives.

Off the books, I’m either on the volleyball court or behind the camera, capturing the world’s vibrant life.

Excited to join this dynamic team, I’m eager to contribute to impactful educational projects.

Hi! My name is Yasmin Begum and I am approaching my third year for History and Politics in Queen Mary. Over the course of my degree, I developed an interest in volunteering and peer-led support for prospective and first year students. I hope to bring my skill set from being a student ambassador for History to this role for technology-driven learning.

As your student ambassador, I am enthusiastic to collaborate with this great team and to use my experience with TEL technologies to enhance the development of current students.

Some of the things I like to do outside of university include reading, drawing and spending quality time with my friends!

Hi! My name is Tosin, and I’m heading into my third year studying Marketing Management. Outside of university, I love fashion and consider myself a fashion addict.

As a TEL Student Ambassador, I’m excited to help new students explore the great TEL applications that can enhance their learning experience. Being a university student is very different from college or sixth form, and I understand how daunting it can seem. However, mastering the available resources, especially the tech, is key to a successful start.

I’m looking forward to meeting them and making sure their university experience starts off great!

Hello! My name is Farah Al-Bahrani, and I am entering my second year of International Relations with Business Management at Queen Mary University of London. I am deeply honored to join the TEL team as a Student Ambassador, where I am committed to leveraging my passion for technology-enhanced learning to empower and inspire my fellow students.

Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a strong understanding of digital learning tools and their transformative impact on education. My experience with Model United Nations has honed my skills in diplomacy, critical thinking, and effective communication, enabling me to convey complex concepts and foster engaging discussions.

As a TEL Student Ambassador, I am dedicated to enriching the academic experience of new students by guiding them through the learning resources at Queen Mary. My goal is to ensure every student fully leverages these technologies to enhance their academic journey. I aim to provide insightful guidance, foster an inclusive learning community, and advocate for improvements in our digital learning platforms.

Beyond academics, I am engaged in community service and have a keen interest in global diplomatic issues. I enjoy reading, traveling, and exploring new cultures. I eagerly look forward to assisting new students during Welcome Week and contributing to a supportive and forward-thinking educational environment at Queen Mary.

Excited for the impactful year ahead!

Yashasvi Nancherla, an MSc student in the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, also joins the team of Student Ambassadors.
