TELT are pleased to announce that the TELT Welcome Week Student Inductions for September 2024 will follow the successful format introduced last year. This format includes collaboration with current students, allowing new students to hear from experienced QM peers.
For the upcoming induction sessions, we will continue with the online booking process that proved effective in September 2023 and was further refined in January 2024. Unlike last year, where bookings were school-specific, the September 2024 sessions will be open to all students, regardless of their school.
This change will offer greater flexibility and a wider selection of sessions for students to choose from, enabling better capacity management and reducing the likelihood of sessions with very low attendance. Multiple sessions will be available throughout the week, providing ample choices each day. You may wish to recommend specific sessions to your students that align with their Welcome Week schedule. Students can easily make and amend their bookings online and will receive confirmation upon booking.
Additionally, following a trial during January Welcome Week, we will be asking participants to use their personal devices for the interactive elements of the sessions. This approach allows students to bookmark important sites during the session, making them easier to revisit in the coming days and weeks. Important:
- Please bring your personal laptop or other suitable device to participate in this session.
- Before arriving for the session, we recommend that you connect your device to the campus Wi-Fi and try logging into QMplus. The network which you should use to connect your device is ‘eduroam’.
- Please arrive early for a prompt start.
