QMplus – September Release

QMplus is to be updated between 07:00-09:00 on Tuesday the 8th of September. During this period, QMplus will be in read only mode and QMplus Hub will be unavailable.

The release will implement several developments to QMplus, which were too late for the summer upgrade. Some of the changes featuring in this release will improve accessibility, reporting and attendance monitoring, as well as bug removal.

For more information, please take a look at our September Release page.

Mentimeter Polling

We are pleased to announce that a campus-wide license for Mentimeter is now available meaning that all staff and students can sign up for an account. To find out more about Mentimeter and how to sign up, please read our webpage here.

Q-Review – New Features!

New features have been implemented to the lecture capture technology, Q-Review, with instructors now able embed polling to video content and improvements to the analytics mean that one has greater insight into the engagement of those viewing the recordings. More information can be found on embedded polling in this article here and on analytics improvements here.

More Articulate Licenses

We have seen a great uptake in the use of the Articulate, via the licenses loaned out by the E-Learning Unit. As a result, we have been able to secure more licenses so that even more fantastic interactive content can be created in earnest. To book out an Articulate license for a period of time, please contact us via elearning@qmul.ac.uk.

Returning to Campus

Pre-lockdown, the ELU staff could be found in the Scape East building, however we are currently continuing to work from home until safe-working procedures have been drafted following the risk assessments which were carried out. Services such as the equipment loan scheme and the recording booths are currently unavailable, however we shall send out communications as soon as a plan is in place to return to the office.

Drop-in Sessions and Book a Learning Technologist

Drop-in sessions are still being held online every Tuesday and Thursday from 1-2pm. There’s no need to tell us you’re coming; just drop-in via the Blackboard Collaborate webinar link on our E-Learning Online Support area on QMplus.

Due to the volume of work which we are fielding at the moment, we are having to pause scheduling more Book A Learning Technologist (BALT) sessions. We shall update via our website and the newsletter when we are able to resume these.
