If you have a large number of students on your course it can quickly become difficult to see which students have submitted assignments and which have not. You can use the filters at the bottom of the grading table for an assignment to limit the number of assignments that you see, quickly assessing which students have made a submission or which students have yet to receive a grade.

Combined with the workflow feature on an assignment, you can use these filters to help you manage your marking process.
